Last week, we paraded to the US in front of MS, US, and parents in our costume.- Khaila
We made witches brew afterward and played Halloween Bingo.- Elise
We also paraded in front of the 2nd and 3rd graders.- Tatiana
We wrote about our Halloween celebration.- Francesca
We watched Charlie Brown's Halloween movie in the afternoon.- Elise

We wrote witch stories with a beginning, middle, and end. We illustrated them.  We even read them to our PK buddies on Halloween!- Libby (We are working on recording, making a movie and documenting it with a QR code to attach to our witches:))

In Math, we studied dimes using a magnifying glass. Franklin D. Roosevelt in on the front and the March of Dimes is on the back. We played Penny-Nickel-Dime Exchange.- Emma

We did Halloween Math.  We predicted lines, seeds, measurement around the pumpkin, and how heavy it was. Then we counted, measured, and weighed the pumpkin to find the actual numbers. After recording our findings, we cut it open, took out the insides, and separated out the seeds.- Charley
Mrs. Bernacchi baked the seeds and we ate them.- Dexter

In Social Studies, we traveled to Japan through Google Earth.  We packed our (paper) suitcases, and boarded the plane to Japan.  We watched a safety video in Japanese before the in flight movie, Big Bird in Japan.- Jonah
If you have anything related to Japan, you can bring it in to share with the class.- Charlie

Some parents came to our classroom to read books to us that we picked out.  Some parents listened to us read on a different day.- Charlie
We had the Black Cat Run along the cross country course.- Tatiana

Thank you to the parents who came to listen to the children read and those that read to the groups of children, during our reading time.  Please email me by Tuesday the week of, to let me know if you are available to listen to the children read on Wednesday, and/or read to the children on Thursday.  The times for both days will be 8:30-9:00, unless our schedule does not permit.
