We learned some Thanksgiving poems to share at Grandparents/ Special Friends Day.
In Social Studies, we learned more about the traditional clothing worn in Japan. The robe is called a kimono and the belt is called the obi. They were wooden clogs called gheta.- Dexter
Jonah's Dad, Mr. Bosworth, showed us pictures of what he did and saw while he was in Japan a few years ago.- Hersh
Mrs. Tooley talked about Japan and showed us lots of things from Japan. She showed us a few daruma dolls. - Tatiana
We made firework painting, Japanese style. -Jonah
In class, we talked more about Daruma Dolls and even decorated our own. We filled in one eye when we set our wish or goal. We will fill in the second eye once our wish or goal is accomplished. - Ethan
Francesca's dad, Mr. Drope talked about Korea. He showed us pictures of what Korea looks like and a little of what he did while there. Francesca showed us a few of her new Korean toys. -Khaila
We learned that Mr. Drope takes Mr. Potato Head with him when he travels.- Jonah
In language arts, we wrote a holiday poem about Thanksgiving. It is posted on our bulletin board in the hallway. -Julian
We learned two poems, Funny Bird and Turkey Tom, and a chant, Thanksgiving Chant. There are QR codes of each on bulletin board in the hallway. -Tatiana
We enjoyed having parents read to us last Thursday.- Isabel

We wrote a poem about our wish and illustrated it.- Sonia
We made special turkey snack bags.- Khaila
We made scarecrows and wrote a description of it. We will see if our Grandparent/ special friend can pick our scarecrow by our description. -Libby
In Math, we finished Unit 3 with a test.- Sonia
We began Unit 4 on measurement. We measured with feet. We read a book called How long is a foot.-Tatiana
We played Domino Top-it on the smartboard.- Julian
